It’s a Complete Sell Out for next year’s Summer Concert Tour

Just five weeks after announcing its 2018 line up, Greenstone Entertainment (organisers of the annual Summer Concert Tour), have completely sold out the three date nationwide concert tour coming to New Zealand in January.

An incredible 48,000 tickets across the three shows have been snapped up in record time, with Taupo Summer Concert selling out only a week after announcement, followed days later by the Gibbston Valley Winery Summer Concert in Queenstown, and for the first time prior to concert day, the Whitianga Summer Concert.

Greenstone Entertainment CEO, Amanda Calvert comments “It’s an extraordinary result for all three shows to sell out in record time, particularly with a number of other concerts and entertainment options vying for peoples hard earned savings. We’re pleased that our selection of artists have resonated so well with both our loyal fans and those who will be experiencing one of our concerts for the first time.”

Next year’s line-up will feature the hard driving powerful rock and blues of George Thorogood & The Destroyers, the multi-talented and one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians in contemporary music- Alanis Morissette, along with the unmistakable voice and lead singer of one of the most successful Australian Bands - Colin Hay of Men At Work fame.

Amanda adds “The popularity for next year’s Summer Concert Tour certainly demonstrates that us kiwis have a hunger for great musical talent from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s - not only from those who remember growing up with these legends, but also the younger audience who have a new found passion of music from the era. We’re looking forward to delivering a fantastic day of entertainment in Queenstown, Taupo and Whitianga, along with showcasing our amazing country and people to our international guests in January.”

With its unique afternoon atmosphere, the concerts will take place in the amazing summer holiday locations of Queenstown on Sat 20 Jan, Taupo on Sat 27 Jan and Whitianga on Sun 28 Jan.

George Thorogood & The Destroyers
New Zealanders have a passion for the amped-up blues rock legends that are George Thorogood & The Destroyers. It will be seven years since George Thorogood & The Destroyers last performed in New Zealand. This is a rare opportunity to see them perform alongside two other great iconic artists and may be the only time to catch these particular acts together. Their 20 albums, 14 of which have spent a massive 150 weeks in the New Zealand charts, include six gold and two platinum discs, and have sold over 15 million copies worldwide. Colin Hay
Who can forget dancing and singing along to Australian 80’s legends- Men at Work - when Colin Hay pumped out hit after hit tunes from their No. 1 selling Business As Usual album. As frontman, guitarist and principle songwriter for eighties hit machine Men at Work, Colin Hay is responsible for some of the most identifiable sounds in pop music, including hit songs Down Under, Be Good Johnny and Who Can It Be Now to name just a few. Business As Usual spent an incredible 75 weeks in the New Zealand charts, ranking in the top 100 bestselling albums of all time in New Zealand.
