Mediaworks to Air Modern Family on Three From Next Month

MediaWorks is pleased to announce it has acquired the rights to hit US comedy, Modern Family.

The popular series has been a household favourite for eight seasons now, and will shortly launch its ninth season.

The series deal between MediaWorks and 20th Century Fox gives Three the rights to air the upcoming, brand new season.

Additionally, MediaWorks has acquired exclusive free-to-air rights to the Modern Family back-catalogue, meaning viewers will have a chance to re-watch their favourite episodes of the colossal comedy.

“MediaWorks is committed to bringing Kiwi’s the absolute best in comedy and entertainment. We are delighted to be able to bring this truly hilarious family favourite back to Three,” says MediaWorks Head of Programming & Acquisitions – TV and Digital, Ben Quinn.

Modern Family stars Ed O’Neill as Jay Pritchett, Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy, Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy, Sofia Vergara as Gloria Pritchett, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell Pritchett, Eric Stonestreet as Cameron Tucker, Sarah Hyland as Haley Dunphy, Nolan Gould as Luke Dunphy, Ariel Winter as Alex Dunphy, Rico Rodriguez as Manny Delgado, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons as Lily Tucker-Pritchett and Jeremy Maguire as Joe Pritchett.

The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television Distribution in association with Steven Levitan Productions and Picador Productions.

Brand new episodes of Modern Family are scheduled to start airing on Three next month.
