Change of Venue for Nelson Arts Festival Show
Change of venue for Nelson Arts Festival show
This year Nelson Arts Festival presents New Zealand’s premier professional choir, Voices New Zealand, as they welcome in Spring with Salut Printemps, alongside a concert pianist.
To make the most of this unique opportunity, the performance is being relocated to Old St John’s Church to take advantage of the magnificent Steinway grand piano situated there and the amazing acoustics. The performance was previously scheduled for the Theatre Royal Nelson.
“The chance to hear the country’s top choir performing alongside pianist Rachel Fuller, playing the Nelson School Of Music’s Steinway grand piano was an opportunity too good to pass up," says Nelson Arts Festival Artistic Director Charlie Unwin.
All other details of the show remain the same, and we will be notifying anyone who has already purchased a ticket to the event about the venue change.

What better way to celebrate our love affair with the sun, budding flowers, fresh green growth, the explosion of colours and life in general, than with a programme using the ‘official’ language of love – French?
The music skips from the better-known pieces of Debussy and Poulenc to romantic and rare chansons (French songs), that conductor Dr Karen Grylls believes had not been performed in New Zealand before the sold-out premiere in Auckland last year. There’s also a quirky four-song cycle about a dromedary, a crayfish, a carp and a cat that will make you giggle.
A blissful concert full of sunshine – not to be missed!
