SPCA Cupcake Day Gets Some Extra Sweetness from Coffee Club

SPCA Cupcake Day gets some extra sweetness from The Coffee Club NZ.
The Coffee Club is throwing its support behind SPCA Cupcake Day this year. From 7-14 August, Kiwis can help the SPCA care for the 46,000 abused and neglected animals the organisation deals with each year, by purchasing specially made cupcakes in The Coffee Club stores across the North and South Islands.
As the official sponsor of SPCA Cupcake Day, The Coffee Club is supporting fund-raising by selling specially made, animal-themed cupcakes. 100% of cupcake profits will go to SPCA Cupcake Day. The aim is to help the event hit its $400,000 target.
“Supporting SPCA Cupcake Day is a natural fit for us,” says Andy Lucas, Director of The Coffee Club. “We’re big animal lovers, and of course baking is right up our street. We know there are a lot of people who feel the same way, and may not have the time to bake themselves. However, they still want to be a part of SPCA Cupcake Day and do their bit to help neglected New Zealand animals.”
The SPCA’s acting CEO Andrea Midgen welcomes the support for the event, and encourages everyone to get involved. “We want Kiwis to go barking mad for baking! We’re very grateful to everyone who bakes or buys a cupcake. The funds raised will help the SPCA to provide vital care to vulnerable animals across New Zealand.”
Now in its ninth year, SPCA Cupcake Day is the SPCA’s fun, community-driven annual fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards protecting animals in need. Since 2009, supporters of the charity have raised more than $2million through the baking and selling of cupcakes and other treats.
