Asian Men Talk About Sex - documentary by Proudly Asian Theatre & Loading Docs
Auckland (August 2017) - Loading Docs and the team behind Proudly Asian Theatre (PAT) present Asian Men Talk About Sex - an intimate short documentary that looks at Asian men living in New Zealand and their experiences, stories and perspectives on sex and dating. Launching worldwide on Friday 11 August.
Eight Asian men challenge stereotypes and bare all as they speak candidly about sex, love and dating.
The nerdy best friend, silent kung-fu master, tech wiz in the office; unshakable stereotypes in film and television continue to desexualise and emasculate Asian men. If sex is a universal human experience, where is the real talk when it comes to Asian men on our screens?
Three female filmmakers talk to eight Asian men about sex, love and dating to lift the lid on taboos and challenge stereotypes. These are their experiences, perspectives and stories, told their way.
Introducing Asian men of all ages and backgrounds living in New Zealand, this ground-breaking documentary promises to be funny, wild, intimate and a little bit awkward. Much like sex.
Asian Men Talk About Sex has been generously supported by the Loading Docs initiative, along with principal partner NZ On Air, the New Zealand Film Commission, and Te Māngai Pāho.
Loading Docs is a unique New Zealand documentary initiative that aims to captivate and inspire audiences as well as develop and promote New Zealand filmmaking talent. Since launching in 2014 Loading Docs has touched audiences all over the world.
