Jason Derulo Confirmed for KFC Edgefest
American pop superstar Jason Derulo is set to perform at KFC Edgefest this November.
The Edge, MediaWorks and TEG Live today confirmed that the singer, songwriter and dancer will be joining chart-topping pop girl band Fifth Harmony as the international headliners at the summer’s biggest music festival series.
Derulo, who began his career writing songs for the likes of Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Diddy and Sean Kingston, has gone on to sell more than 50 million singles worldwide and racked up over two billion views on YouTube and one billion plays on Spotify. He’s had 11 career-defining platinum singles, including the New Zealand #1 single Whatcha Say, Want to Want Me, In My Head, Ridin' Solo, Don't Wanna Go Home and It Girl.
Derulo’s 2014 album, Talk Dirty, spawned five platinum singles that sold a collective 16 million units worldwide including: The Other Side, Talk Dirty (feat. 2 Chainz), Marry Me, Wiggle (feat. Snoop Dogg), and Trumpets — propelling Derulo into an elite cadre of artists, including Drake, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift, who have scored five platinum singles from one album.
Performing KFC Edgefest alongside Derulo and Fifth Harmony are English dance pop sensation Jonas Blue, Norwegian tropical house/pop princess Astrid S as well as a host of Kiwi acts including Kings and Mitch James.
KFC Edgefest will kick off in Christchurch at the Horncastle Arena on Friday 3rd November. The Festival heads to TSB Bank Arena in Wellington on Saturday 4th November, with the final event taking place in Auckland at Spark Arena on Sunday 5th November.
