Julia Michaels Confirmed as Special Guest for All Au & Nz Shows
It’s a mere four months until multi-platinum singer songwriter Shawn Mendes brings his acclaimed Illuminate World Tour to Australian and New Zealand arenas this summer. Frontier Touring is now excited to confirm joining Mendes on all shows and making her Australian and New Zealand performance debut is one of 2017’s biggest global breakthrough artists, Julia Michaels.
Michaels has established herself as a chart force; logging 12 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, eight of which reached the top 40, before her voice had even hit the airwaves! One of the 10 New Artists You Need To Know: Feb 2017 by Rolling Stone, Michaels boasts an impressive repertoire, responsible for co-writing hits such as ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber, ‘Hands To Myself’ by Selena Gomez and ‘Dive’ by Ed Sheeran, just to name a few.
Michaels’ first ever solo single, the pop ballad ‘Issues’, has been certified platinum in the US after only being released in January 2017, and according to Nielsen Music remains the best-selling song released by a new artist this year.
Follow-up single ‘Uh Huh’ propels a love-struck vocal fluttering atop a snappy acoustic riff and eventually a tight synth groove. Both tracks are included in Michael’s highly anticipated mini-album Nervous System (out now via Republic Records).
The Illuminate World Tour marks Shawn Mendes’ much-awaited return to Australia after his debut shows last November sold out in just minutes. Shawn is touring in support of his sophomore album Illuminate (Island Records), which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking his second #1 album debut. Throughout his career, Shawn has achieved 7 consecutive Platinum and multi-Platinum singles, and his current single ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’ has already clocked over 250 million streams on Spotify, 84 million on YouTube, and has soared to Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The singer/songwriter’s first-ever headlining arena tour has sold over half a million tickets so far and now includes over 60 dates across four continents.
Fans are encouraged to act quickly in securing tickets to witness Mendes’ first-ever headlining arena tour with very special guest Julia Michaels in her Australian and New Zealand performance debut.
