Post-institutional practices: new collaborations
Please join us as Walter Langelaar, Netherlands-born, Wellington-based artist and sub-cultural activist chairs the first of three forums organised in association with the Adam Art Gallery’s The Tomorrow People exhibition, in which artists and organisers discuss the potential and challenges of non-institutional artist-led activities that posit new forms of collectivity and new platforms for practice. This forum is a partnership with the Cultivating Creative Capital theme at Victoria University.
Langelaar's work in media arts and design ranges from artistic videogame modification to critical reflections on Internet technology and culture. His installations and collaborative online projects have been shown in numerous venues, galleries and festivals like Transmediale and CTM, Jeu de Paume, WORM, the Hammer Museum, DEAF, Ars Electronica, NiMK/Montevideo, Babycastles NYC, iMAL and Medialab Prado. Walter is Programme Director of Media Design at Victoria University of Wellington's School of Design.
