Roller Derby Home Season - Celebrating 10 Years
Richter City Smash Malice vs Brutal Pageant
Wellington, Saturday 22nd July, 2017 - Following on from an epic double header in May, Richter City kicks off their Home Season with the league's longest standing home teams, Smash Malice and Brutal Pageant.
Coming up on Saturday 22nd July, at Kilbirnie Recreation Centre, Richter City Roller Derby (RCRD) will be hosting their Home Season opener. Be there to celebrate the birthday of Wellington’s finest Roller Derby league and cheer on the trashy leopard-clad babes that are Smash Malice, or the down & dirty disgraced beauty queens of Brutal Pageant.
Smash Malice took the crowning glory in last years home season round robin where they competed against Brutal Pageant and Comic Slams – who will take the title this year?
All three home teams in the 2017 Home Season for Richter City have skaters from the All Stars and Convicts squads, along with some fresh new faces with a whole bunch of talent. Get your signs ready and your team colours on! Any Wellington based Roller Derby fan will tell you home season is not to be missed.
Garage Project Bar (alcohol will not be served to minors) and a variety of other awesome local food options, including Antojitos Taco Truck, will be available. There will also be RCRD exclusive merchandise available and a stall featuring goods from one of RCRD’s sponsors, Thunderpants.
Friends of Richter City, Wellington Free Ambulance will be present, for those just-in-case moments, but in the hopes they’re not needed and can just enjoy the event. To ensure the safety of our fans, the first 3 rows of the up-close, trackside 'suicide seating', which is right next to the track is restricted to aged 18+ only, but there is plenty of other seating, including tiered seating.
Doors open at 6pm, first whistle at 7pm. Exit and re-entry available. Tickets (presale via Eventfinda and door sales at the event) $15 for adults, $12 for students, $10 for kids (and under 5s are free).
