New Zealand Guitar Quartet Playing in Hawera – 21 July
International entertainers, the New Zealand Guitar Quartet, are performing for one night only at Hawera’s Repertory House clubrooms on Friday 21 July.
South Taranaki District Council (STDC) events co-ordinator, Jody Bloor, says the four accomplished guitarists bring an infectious energy to the concert stage.
“The Quartet have recently returned from concerts in Australia and China and are building quite an international reputation,” says Jody.
“While their performances of contemporary and world music gain wide audience appreciation, we will see a return to their roots as they pay tribute to a range of artistic styles including gypsy jazz, bluegrass, Celtic and flamenco.”
Jody says Repertory House is the perfect venue for the night’s entertainment due to its smaller size which makes for an intimate performance.
“The show starts at 7.30pm with an intermission where a light supper will be provided. I expect tickets will sell fast so get in early so you don’t miss out. There will only be door sales if there are tickets left,” she says.
The New Zealand Guitar Quartet are being brought to Hawera as part of Arts On Tour New Zealand (AOTNZ), a Trust which organises tours of outstanding New Zealand performers to rural and smaller centres in New Zealand.
Tickets are $25 and can be bought from the South Taranaki i-SITE Visitor Centre, phone 06 278 8599.
