NZFW Launches New Trade Space for Designers
New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) has today announced the addition of a new Trade Space giving designers and brands a custom area within the world class Viaduct Events Centre where they can make invaluable connections, strengthen their networks and create wholesale opportunities.
The event provides an unparalleled platform for designers to showcase and capture the attention of international and local buyers and media and the addition of the new Trade Space, developed in response to designer feedback, will give NZFW designers further expand and extend their wholesale business and grow revenue.
The move adds another layer to NZFW’s multi-tiered entry options making a presence at NZFW accessible to designers at all levels, ensuring they can capitalise on the hype and sales opportunities at the biggest week in New Zealand fashion.
Other NZFW designer presentation options include Individual Collection shows in various formats, Group Shows, a New Generation show for up and coming designers as well as off-site show alternatives.
The Trade Space will offer an accessible platform for all designers to strengthen their networks through wholesale and media appointments with the ease of being onsite. As well as established, new and emerging designers who can enjoy this option to capture business from their runway show or presentation or those who wish to simply be part of the Trade Space, being particularly useful for designers travelling internationally or those based out of Auckland.
“NZFW is a key event for the industry as it is the only premium trade event offering designers an international standard, high profile environment to reach both international and national buyers, press and consumers”, says NZFW founder / director Dame Pieter Stewart.
“With the addition of this space, designers will have the opportunity to meet more buyers in a purpose designed area and really maximise their sales. NZFW delegates will have the luxury of staying on-site for appointments versus running around town or back and forth to the venue giving them more time to meet with designers, view collections and discover new brands”, Stewart concludes.
With buyers and showrooms from New Zealand as well as key global markets including Australia, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, NYC and LA travelling to NZFW each year, the event provides incomparable brand building and sales opportunities for New Zealand designers.
Key buyers who attended in 2016 and previous years have included: No Face Agency – UK, Myer – AU, David Jones – AU, Tree of Life Showroom – US, Trixilini – Singapore, The Black Wall – AU, Electric Sekki - Hong Kong, Showroom 7 – US, ASOS - AU / UK, The Iconic – AU, Fei Space – China, My Wardrobe – AU, Any Wear Style – China, Bau Haus - Hong Kong.
Within the Trade Space, designers will have the opportunity to secure a private area for a select amount of time to conduct wholesale and media appointments. The Trade Space will be exclusively accessible to delegates of NZFW and invited guests of the designers.
With a clever design utilising a flexible walling system, designers can customise the size of the space best suited to their budget and space requirements - which can range from a single 3m x 3m space up to a double 6m x 6m space.
The Trade Space will be trialled at NZFW 2017 and if successful become a permanent fixture at the event.
NZFW will kick off with an opening ceremony on Monday 28th August, before a packed schedule of forward season (Autumn/Winter 2018) shows and public shows, sessions and parties over NZ Fashion Weekend.
2017 marks the 17th NZFW celebrating and facilitating the worldwide expansion of the NZ Fashion industry with addition of the new Trade Space at the event ensuring this expansion continues its upward trajectory.
