The New World First Look Event which is part of the Rural Women New Zealand WoolOn Fashion Event is an opportunity for fashion and fibre lovers to view entries prior to the Saturday night awards ceremony. Those attending will get to appreciate the garments and the designer’s skills. This event is a little more relaxed with theatre style seating however still contains all the elements of the awards show. You can expect to be entertained.
“The event is a little shorter than the awards night as there are no announcements of the winners” says Chairperson, Clair Higginson. “It is a great opportunity for both young and old to experience the catwalk, fashion and design and if you appreciate having an earlier night this is the show for you.”
Shane Ryan General Manager Alexandra New World says “The farming industry is important to the Central Otago community and the New World First Look Event enables both our local Central Otago designers, those from throughout New Zealand and overseas to showcase their talent at a high-class event and showcase the creativity associated to the wool product. This event has a great collaborative approach in supporting both a commercial industry and the arts and culture aspects within our community.”
