Japanese DJ & musician Kenji Takimi debut NZ appearance

Kenji Takimi is one of Japan's most important and prolific underground figures, and is a true pioneer of the leftfield scene worldwide. His label Crue-L Records has been at the forefront of Japanese alternative music since its inception 25 years ago. From his remixes of Nina Kraviz, Sebastien Tellier, Cut Copy, Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music) and Boris, to his studio work with dance favourites Theo Parrish, DJ Harvey & the Idjut Boys, Kenji is one of Japan’s busiest and most sought-after producers. Plus he is an incredible DJ, with his mixes characterised by an unmistakable romantic, spacey, and eclectic style.

After his headlining set at Australian festival Golden Plains in 2016 that saw him crowned “the Emperor of Golden Plains”, Takimi heads to New Zealand for a one of show only on Sunday June 4th (Queen’s Birthday)
