Irish Comedian Returns Some Love to Kaikoura
ED BYRNE – FREE KAIKOURA SHOW
On May 13th 2007, during his 5th tour of New Zealand, Irish stand-up comedy legend, Ed Byrne proposed marriage to Claire at The Green Dolphin Restaurant in Kaikoura.
Ten years later, on Monday May 8th, during his 8th tour to New Zealand, Ed Byrne will be returning a little love to Kaikoura and providing some comic relief in the stressed town with a FREE show for locals with the assistance of an appreciative Kaikoura District Council.
Ed will also be accompanied by English comedian, Rich Wilson as support act. Rich has proved very popular will local audiences at the 2015 and 2016 Comedy Festival and is returning in 2017 to perform his new solo show in Auckland and Wellington.
Ed and Rich will spend a couple of days in the town and have a chance to survey the effects of the earthquake and meet some of the locals working on reconstruction before they perform on Monday evening. The comedians have waived any fees and are covering their own travel costs to the town.
