Tickets on Sale – WoolOn is Back
Tickets are now on sale for Central Otago’s premium creative fashion event, Rural Women New Zealand WoolOn Creative Fashion Event.
The event is being held in Alexandra over the weekend of 26-28 May.
The awards are a special opportunity for Central Otago and New Zealand to celebrate its connection to land, people and place through exquisite wool fibre. The awards also celebrate wool’s incredible qualities as a natural fibre and the ways it can be used creatively in high-fashion garments.
There are three parts to this year’s WoolOn event each with its own unique fashion focus.
The New World First Look Event on the evening of Friday 26 May is an opportunity for the community to view the exquisite creative designs in this year’s show, and for the younger generation to experience the excitement of fashion, the catwalk and design.
On Saturday night (27 May), the premier showcase event is being held—the Rural Women New Zealand WoolOn Awards. Winners are announced at this inspiring and exhilarating extravaganza of fashion and entertainment.
This year there will also be the opportunity to view some of the garments and hear from designers in a special `Up Close’ event hosted by Central Stories on Sunday 28 May.
The team behind the Rural Women New Zealand WoolOn Creative Fashion Event have been working tirelessly to once again bring this outstanding event that connects fibre, art and glamour to Central Otago.
“Without the enormous support of locals and businesses within the Central Otago community and the sponsorship of Rural Women New Zealand, and of course the amazing designers who put their time and incredible creative energy into designing outstanding garments, these awards would not be possible,” says chairperson, Clair Higginson.
