REVIEW: Super GT Official Test #1 at Okayama

MY TESTING REPORT
I wasn't sure what to expect when Super GT's 'Class of 2017' came together for the first time at Okayama. 45 cars across two classes, with my class - GT300, with 30 cars - easily the most competitive grid I've been in thus far in my career.
It was a chance for the young Gulf Racing team to show its mettle and with steady improvements made in every run, we finished the final of four 2hr sessions in 4th place, just 2/10ths of a second shy of the top spot.
This gave everyone a massive boost in self confidence ahead of round one of the season, back at the same circuit, in three week's time.
As I get my head around the glue-like tyres, we're making the gains we need to challenge for podiums this season, and maybe even better.
But before that, there's another two days of testing at Fuji Speedway next weekend. Time to do it all again!
Thanks to the team for their hard work. I haven't had a positive vibe like this in quite some time and it's really exciting to be a part of.
