Ed Sheeran Creates And Breaks New Zealand Records with Album ÷ (Divide)
The Official NZ Music Charts have confirmed that all 16 tracks off the deluxe version of Ed Sheeran’s new album ÷ (pronounced “divide”) have made the NZ Top 40 today. The feat of all of an album’s tracks charting has never been achieved before, thus setting a brand new record.
“It’s a phenomenon of the new age in music availability, and streaming in particular, that this sort of chart dominance is even possible – but it’s also a reflection of the extent to which Ed Sheeran’s music resonates with the New Zealand public that he’s able to rule the chart quite so convincingly” says Recorded Music NZ Chart Compiler Paul Kennedy.

New Zealand is the first market to see this kind of unprecedented achievement happen – but it is an accomplishment that will likely be repeated in the next couple of days as Ed Sheeran’s album debuts in the charts around the globe.
÷ (divide) is on course to become one of the most significant global album releases of 2017 and sees the 26-year-old Suffolk native in his finest form yet. The genre-defying LP is the result of an artist who consistently pushes himself in new directions, uncovering fresh musical ground using a seemingly limitless musical vocabulary. Drawing inspiration from a host of personal experiences and subjects, Ed takes you through a hugely personal journey.
Ed also recently announced his upcoming UK and European tour where he will be joined by fellow Brit and upcoming pop starlet Anne-Marie. About her, Ed has said “I’m so happy Anne-Marie is joining me for the tour. We’ve known each other for a long time now - she’s super talented and is going to be massive in 2017!” Anne-Marie has today unveiled the official video for her new single ‘Ciao Adios’ which followed on from her feature in the smash hit ‘Rockabye’ by Clean Bandit.
