Northern Stars player Holly Fowler has suffered an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee.
The injury occurred during a team practice match. It is a blow to the Northern Stars and to Holly who was shaping up for a fantastic year with the new team in the ANZ Premiership.
Northern Stars coach Julie Hoornweg says she is terribly disappointed for Holly. “This is devastating news for Holly. She has begun the pre-season strongly and was training incredibly hard” Hoornweg said.
“Holly is a tough and determined player; I know she’ll dedicate herself to her rehabilitation and come back stronger.”
The Northern Stars management and medical team will work with Holly and support her on her road to recovery. A replacement for Holly will be announced in due course.
