THREE WINS FRIDAY & SUNDAY NIGHT, THE AM SHOW LAUNCHES & THREE’S BRAND TRANSFORMATION
Since its launch on Thursday, Three has claimed the mantle of most popular 25-54 free-to-air network two out of four nights.
Friday saw Three win the night in all four key commercial demographics, including viewers aged 25-54, 18-39, 18-49 and Household Shoppers with Kids, led by the film Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.
Sunday drew a similar result, with Three winning the night in 25-54 among free-to-air networks, led by The Block NZ and Taken 3.
This morning saw the launch of MediaWorks’ new cross-platform morning programme The AM Show, with Duncan Garner, Mark Richardson and Amanda Gillies.
Broadcasting on Three and RadioLIVE, the first installment included a diverse line-up of content, including ‘Suits’ actor Rick Hoffman, Prime Minister Bill English and Labour Leader Andrew Little.
Hoffman, in his first in-studio television appearance in New Zealand, commented on the new show saying, “I’ve done about 1012 morning breakfast shows in a matter of three years. This is the best.”
At 12.01am on Thursday, MediaWorks’ primary television channel transformed into ‘Three’. The change reflected an overhaul of the channel’s on-air and online identity, replacing the nearly 15 year old ‘TV3’ brand.
Network executives described the new brand as vibrant, playful and inspiring, and reflective of the iconic programme brands Kiwis know and love likeJono and Ben, 7 Days, Family Feud, The Bachelor NZ, The Block NZ, Westside and Newshub.
The new brand includes a fresh visual identity on Three, our on-demand ThreeNow VOD service, as well as online at the new one-stop-shopThreeNow.co.nz - a simplified, streamlined website for on-demand programming, TV guides and extra content.
