The Greatest Show in Earth
• New Zealand Flower & Garden Show is back!
• Just a skip, hop, and a jump from Auckland’s CBD in Waitakere, the “fruit bowl of Auckland”
• Tickets on sale from May 2017 through Ticketek
Green-thumbs, flower enthusiasts, fun lovers, and home and garden renovators – the wait is over. The New Zealand Flower & Garden Show will treat visitors to a floral and horticultural spectacular at the end of November, 2017.
Putting roots down in Waitakere, the show will set Auckland – and New Zealand – back on the international garden and floral design stage, after a nine-year hiatus. The show will be running from 29 November to 3 December 2017, from 10.00am – 6.00pm at The Trusts Arena grounds, in Waitakere.
The event, originally planned for Okahu Bay, has been moved to avoid archaeological impact, however Ngati Whatua Orakei are delighted to offer their continuing support of the show. An event they believe will have huge success in the new venue. This location change ensures there is ample exhibition space, parking and proximity to public transport.
Event Director and multi-award winning garden designer Kate Hillier is looking forward to seeing the garden and landscape spectacular come to life in the new Waitakere location, saying, “Confirming the Trusts Arena grounds for the New Zealand Flower & Garden Show is a great way to kick off 2017! Showcasing New Zealand’s top gardening and landscape design talent, as well as international designers, will guarantee a visual feast of flower and garden creations.
“With more than 100 horticultural and floral art displays across 10 categories, I’m certain that local and international judges will find it difficult to choose the Best in Show winner! What’s more, as the landscape of garden design has changed over the years and the way we Kiwis live, the gardens and fabulous things on show will celebrate and inspire a whole new way of enjoying the outdoors.”
The four-day event expects to welcome more than 60,000 visitors. One hundred horticultural displays and 200 industry exhibitors expected at the show will also give out-of-town visitors more than 300 great reasons to book a trip to Auckland.
“Kiwis love to roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty and cultivate the land; so, the show is sure to appeal to home renovators and gardeners looking for landscaping inspiration to add style and value to their home. In recognition of our DIY culture, for the first time ever, members of the public can enter two of the categories; Bedding Displays or the Balcony Garden,” says Kate Hillier.
During the show, there will be some fantastic new events that will transform the grounds into an exciting social hub. The event takes off with a glamorous Gala opening for 1,000 guests.
Tickets will be on sale from May 1, 2017 – perfect timing for Mother’s Day gifts. Pricing starts at $24 pp and children under the age of 12 are free (service fees will apply).
The New Zealand Flower & Garden Show also offers fantastic opportunities for brands to engage with tens of thousands of consumers who are looking for ways to enhance their homes and gardens. The Show management team is keen to speak with anyone who is interested in partnering with this exciting event as a sponsor, retailer or exhibitor.
