DAY ONE OF SOLD OUT RHYTHM AND VINES
A electrifying performance by festival headliners Chance the Rapper, RÜFÜS and Getter marked the perfect wrap up to the first day of the sold out Rhythm and Vines Festival. Arguably one of the hottest artists in the world right now, Chance blew away the capacity crowd only pausing briefly to express his desire to move to NZ, find a nice Kiwi girl and even get himself a German Shephard.
Keen to get settled before the main action began, 7,000 campers bedded in on Dec 28 with the remainder flooding in from around the country on Dec 29. Festival goers took full advantage of the spectacular Gisborne sunshine and spent the day mixing and mingling amongst the vines while enjoying world class acts spread across four unique and distinctive stages. This year’s epic lineup presented crowds with a huge selection of various music genres ranging from Rap and Hip-Hop to Dubstep, Dance and even Zumba.
Festival Founder Hamish Pinkham said “Our site team have really delivered a world class festival experience tonight. The crowds were in such good spirits, they partied hard but partied responsibly which is great to see.”
Local acts including Electro-Pop favourite Maala, Hip-hop Wellingtonian Name UL and Kiwi Bass Duo Sachi proved to be crowd favourites with our cousins from across the ditch, Australian EDM duo Cut Snake delivering memorable sets to a capacity crowd.
Day Two of the festival will see performances from festival sweetheart Kimbra, Drum and Bass superstar Netsky, Wilkinson and Hip Hop legend Denzel Curry plus many more.
