Flox, Hospice NZ And Farmers to Create Christmas Baubles
Media Release: for immediate release
Flox Teams with Hospice New Zealand And Farmers to Create Christmas Baubles, Fundraising for Those in Need!
Internationally renowned artist FLOX has designed a gorgeous manuka flower Christmas Tree Bauble to support Hospice New Zealand and their Farmers fundraising campaign this December! Farmers stores throughout New Zealand will be selling the baubles with 100% of the $10 purchase price going to the hospice in each store’s region – supporting local communities throughout Aotearoa.
Interviews are now available with FLOX (artist Hayley King) and several youth ambassadors for the Totara Hospice in South Auckland. These young ambassadors aged 12 -17 are passionate advocates for the service, each having connected personally to the Totara Hospice when support for their families was needed. Each have their own unique and moving story. These are important stories to remember when families come together for the Festive season.
FLOX’s unique bauble design is inspired by Manuka which was used historically for its medicinal properties – something for which it is still used today. Combine that with its aromatherapy attributes, the plant truly is an all-round healer – A perfect fit for the philosophy of Hospice New Zealand.
Hospice New Zealand aims to help people make the most of their lives; to live every moment in whatever way is important to them. Kiwis of all ages living with a life limiting condition – e.g. heart failure, motor neurone disease, MS or cancer – can access and benefit from hospice services. Hospice care has a unique whole person approach – which means physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs are equally important – a multidisciplinary team provides care person who is dying and their families and friends as well, both before and after a death.
Many people think of hospice services as just a building, when in fact it is a philosophy of care. Most hospice services in New Zealand have inpatient facilities, but the majority of people are cared for in their own homes. This vital service to New Zealanders receives funding from Government, but financial support from the community is essential to meet the shortfall every year.
Alongside these specially designed baubles each Farmers store will have a Tree of Remembrance where, for a small donation, visitors can write a personal message on a card to hang on the tree. The Tree of Remembrance is an opportunity to remember someone special in the lead up to Christmas.
