New Zealand, Tuesday 22 November 2016: From December 1st until Christmas Eve, Cadbury will be taking to the road in its Christmas Truck - touring the nation from the bottom of the South Island, to the top of the North. It will stop at participating New World stores sharing the joy of Christmas with shoppers busy preparing for festivities.
Ahead of the truck’s arrival, New World and Cadbury are encouraging shoppers to look out for specially marked donation trolleys in-store to gift non-perishable food items, toys and other treats for local families spending time in hospital this Festive Season.
These generous community donations will be gifted as a small way of bringing the joy of Christmas to those deserving families at an otherwise stressful time.
Steve Anderson, Managing Director Foodstuffs NZ Ltd, says “We’re delighted to get on board with Cadbury and encourage our already generous customers to give a little extra when they stock up – we know it’ll make all the difference to children and their families in Starship and other hospitals around the country. Following the earthquakes and extreme weather events of the last few days, this comes at a time when many New Zealanders are in need of a bit of a lift.”
Local shoppers will also benefit, with each participating New World store experiencing the full Cadbury Christmas treatment when the truck arrives throughout December. Cadbury Helper Elves will be on-site to lend a hand with groceries and a pop-up winter wonderland will transform the carpark for all to enjoy. Every person purchasing a Cadbury product during the Cadbury Christmas celebration will be given the chance to spin a winning wheel with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.
Cadbury Country Head, James Kane, says he’s proud that Cadbury can help bring more joy to families at Christmas time. “Partnering with New World to collect donations for those spending time in hospital is a great way for us to harness the Christmas spirit. We thank everyone who gifts a present to those in need of some extra Christmas cheer and are very excited to be surprising shoppers as we take our Christmas celebration around the country.”
Cadbury’s Christmas Truck will be on the road from 1st – 24th December stopping at local New Worlds from Invercargill to Whangarei. Check out www.newworld.co.nz/inspire-me/cadbury-truck/ to find out when it will stop at a New World near you.
