New Zealand Music Foundation charity aligns with VNZMA
Recorded Music is proud to announce The New Zealand Music Foundation as the charity partner for the 2016 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
The Foundation was established in 2012 and is dedicated to developing and supporting projects that all have one thing in common: they change lives through music.
The charity supports projects that use music in healthcare and with at-risk & vulnerable people. This includes music therapy in hospices and projects that use the power of music to restore physical and cognitive ability lost as a result of disease and injury.
“Partnering with the VNZMA’s raises the profile of the vital work we do with music projects in the community” says Peter Dickens, General Manager of The NZ Music Foundation.
“It also helps us to reach both the artists out front and the crew behind the scenes with information about the emergency assistance and counselling support we provide to kiwi music people in need.”
The Foundation recently launched a world-first music industry Wellbeing Service: an online, on the phone and in-person counselling service tailored to and provided free of charge to those in the kiwi music community who cannot access the help they need due to hardship and other circumstances.
“The Foundation has been supporting many wonderful music projects across the country, and this timely initiative is addressing an issue that is often dismissed or suppressed in our industry,” says Recorded Music CEO Damian Vaughan.
“I encourage all Kiwis to visit the website, sign up as a member and/or make a donation.”
More information can be found via their website: www.nzmusicfoundation.org.nz.
Tickets to the 2016 New Zealand Music Awards are available from Ticketmaster, $25 general admission + booking fee. Each ticket goes in the draw to win a trip to Fiji.
