NZME Launch into Wanaka

NZME Launch Coast into Wanaka

3 November 2016 –NZME announced today New Zealand’s favourite easy listening station Coast is coming to Wanaka. The station will launch on Monday November 7 on 94.6FM.

NZME Group Director – Entertainment, Dean Buchanan says the team is thrilled to launch Coast in Wanaka.

“Growing the Coast national footprint and being able to take one of New Zealand’s favourite radio brands to Wanaka is incredibly exciting. Coast plays the music people grew up with and love to sing along to, and we think the people of Wanaka will love this new station.”

The introduction of the station to Wanaka is the result of a joint venture with Central Lakes Media Ltd. Owner Mike Regal says Coast is the perfect complement to Wanaka’s existing stations.

“There has been a gap in the Wanaka radio market for a music station targeting listeners over 40. Coast on 94.6FM is the perfect fit with its mix of 60s, 70’s and 80’s. Being able to bring Wanaka a station of Coast’s quality and offer our clients local advertising is a win-win.”

Coast plays a wide variety of superstar acts including Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Elton John, Queen and David Bowie and is home to some of New Zealand’s most loved personalities. The station announced in September that Jason Reeves will join the team as the new Afternoon Drive host for 2017, joining Breakfast host Brian Kelly, Day host Lorna Subritzky and Night host Rick Morin, along with Coastambassadors Jude Dobson, Allyson Gofton and Brett McGregor.

Coast can be heard in Wanaka on 94.6FM from Monday 7 November, and 24/7 on iheartradio.co.nz.
