Critically acclaimed and universally loved, HIGH ROAD, is an award winning web-series created by Justin Harwood. The series follows Terry Huffer (Mark Mitchinson), a washed up rock star who emigrates to New Zealand and starts a community radio station in a caravan at the Piha Campground.
Season 3 is a prequel to Season 1.
Terry Huffer is an aging rock-star from the seminal late seventies band, The Queens. Even though it’s thirty years later, in his mind he hasn’t changed a bit. And he loves to party.
But now his partying is landing him in the tabloids, causing embarrassment for his long-suffering sister, Emma Thompson. To get him out of London while her new BBC drama comes out, Emma convinces Terry to visit his daughter, Rain, in New Zealand.
Terry arrives in New Zealand and discovers his wife, Belinda, won’t let him see his daughter without him seeking help for his excessive “party habits”. He goes to rehab, which doesn’t work out so well.
To make matters worse, Tex Rainger, the guitarist from The Queens, plays a gig in town and together they end up on a mini road trip.It brings out the worst in Terry.
While being rescued by the Piha Surf Lifesavers, Terry sees a vision in the form of a woman riding a horse along the beach. It is love at first sight.
Later at a Christmas party, Terry meets the mystery horse rider and decides he wants to stay in Piha, and start a community radio station in a caravan.
High Road season 3 will be available online from November 5
