The Bachelor New Zealand Returns - Casting Call is Now Open
The Bachelor New Zealand is back - and single ladies are invited to apply.
MediaWorks is thrilled to announce the casting call for bachelorettes is officially open. Women between 21 - 35 years of
age who are genuinely looking for love and plenty of adventure are welcome to make the first move.
The Bachelor has proven to be a worldwide success with 30 countries taking part in their own search for love but the journey to find
love, as in real life, isn’t without its challenges. After the fairy-tale end of season one, the second season reminded
fans how real emotions from real people are at the heart of The Bachelor New Zealand.
Season two however still saw impressive ratings across the season, peaking with one of TV3’s highest channel share since
2014 with the Women Tell All special reunion episode attracting a total audience of 909,300.
MediaWorks Chief Content Officer Andrew Szusterman is excited to see what 2017 will deliver for the hit series:
“New Zealand has shown us they simply can’t get enough of this format. They love to immerse themselves in a prospective
love story and so far we’ve had a pretty good 50% relationship hit rate. In 2017 we’re aiming for two out of three.”
MediaWorks will not be doing a casting call for the role of the Bachelor. His identity will be a closely guarded secret
to be revealed closer to the series launching in 2017.
The Bachelor New Zealand will continue to encompass TV, radio and digital elements, reinforcing MediaWorks’ commitment to cross-platform
engagement opportunities across its businesses.
MediaWorks Radio national network MORE FM will again play a key role in delivering the format alongside The Edge who
will for the first time host the search for the Bachelorette WildCard from December 12th.
As well as receiving wider MediaWorks Radio support through its networks, including The Edge, Breeze and Mai, MediaWorks
digital platforms will deliver additional exclusive content to viewers, enabling the audience to connect with The Bachelor New Zealand on-screen talent through mobile, tablet and desktop digital platforms.
The Bachelor New Zealand season three will follow a group of bachelorettes who are willing to put their hearts on the line to win the attention
and affection of the Bachelor through a series of group dates, one-on-one dates, and of course, the famous rose
ceremony.
During the rose ceremony, the Bachelor presents a single red rose to each of the bachelorettes that he would like to get
to know better. Any woman left without a rose must pack her bags and leave The Bachelor New Zealand mansion.
As the series draws to a close, the Bachelor will invite a few special bachelorettes on a romantic getaway. From there,
two ladies will join him on an adventure date where he will ultimately decide which bachelorette has won his heart and a
place in his life.
