Nation’s favourite Christmas party upstaged!
Coca-Cola NZ has announced plans to present their popular outdoor musical spectacular, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park,
from a brand new high tech stage; one of the biggest ever designed and built in New Zealand.
Annette Chillingworth from Coca-Cola NZ says the new stage is currently in production and will be seen for the first
time at the Christchurch concert at Hagley Park.
“Concert goers will enjoy a global arena style presentation, with a 66 metre arc of LED screens offering one of the
widest panorama projections ever presented in New Zealand,” she said.
The first Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park was held in 1994, on a 15 metre stage on the cricket pavilion in the Auckland
Domain. Since then generations of Kiwis have gathered together year after year to enjoy the show and celebrate the start
of Christmas.
Chris Litchfield of Coca-Cola NZ says, “Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park is a world class production, worthy of a world
class stage. From the very first concert, it’s grown to be an impressive showcase of great Kiwi talent, spectacular
fireworks and has become a ‘don’t-miss’ iconic event for hundreds of thousands of Kiwis.”
Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park will be held in North Hagley Park in Christchurch on Saturday 26 November and at the
Auckland Domain on Saturday 10 December 2016.
The free family event will once again be supporting Youthline and concert goers are encouraged to purchase a light stick
or make a donation to the Youthline volunteer collectors.
