Modelling needs diversity – so keep those dreams alive!
Blown away by the response to an NZ Herald article about achieving his lifelong goal of modelling at New York Fashion Week, model, agency owner and super-creative
Patric Seng is keeping his dreams going – and everyone else's!
"It was an avalanche of kind words and support after the Herald article," says Seng. "Even when I was out grabbing a coffee, the young barista made a comment to her colleague that one
should never give up their dreams because she had been inspired by my story!"
Seng is delighted and humbled that his determination to walk NYFW despite being told he wasn't "model material" has
motivated others to persevere with their dreams.
His dream continues November 13 with BINTANG Fashion Fairytale S/S17 Show. "After I came back from New York, I haven't
stopped working! On November 13, my agency and I will be presenting our models at our fashion event called Fashion
Fairytale," says Seng.
With the agency's ongoing emphasis on development and wholehearted support of their models, the showcase is to help the
young women and men to gain experience on the runway, while promoting the agency's diverse faces.
Modelling is a very tough industry but Seng wants his models to step out with confidence, no matter where they come from
or the size or shape of their body.
Why Fashion Fairytale? It's also Bintang Models' 3rd birthday, making it the perfect opportunity for guests to dress up
for the red carpet and celebrate a magical moment together – all while getting a little new-season inspiration from the
runway show and the diverse beauty of the models.
"You're never too old to believe in fairytales and never too old to be a model! I believe true beauty is how you carry
yourself," says Seng. "If you want a happy ending, the journey starts with your first step!"
