The Edge Afternoon Show is on the Search for a New Co-Host
The Edge is searching for a new co-host after Guy Williams announced today he will be leaving The Guy, Sharyn and Clint show at the end of 2016.
Making the announcement on-air this afternoon, Guy said he is leaving the afternoon show to focus on television and other new projects but says the decision to leave radio was a tough one to make.
“It’s really hard to be leaving a show I’ve worked on for nearly three years and two of my best friends. Lucky it will be some small boots to fill for whoever gets the role. I’m really looking forward to working less in the future and focusing on my indoor netball career,” Guy said.
While sad to see Guy depart, The Edge Afternoons co-hosts Clint Roberts and Sharyn Casey are keen to start the search for a ‘new guy’, and have decided to include their listeners in the process. The team will be trialling new co-hosts during the coming months.
Clint said: "It's going to be hard to find another laugh as irritating as Guy's, but we're up for the challenge. This is a great opportunity for the show to find someone that doesn't just look like me with glasses."
Sharyn added: “We're really sad that Guy is leaving. We've come to love his adorable dad Gary and his hot brother Paul, I hope Clint and I get them in the divorce."
The Edge is the number one music station in New Zealand with 662,700* listeners while The Edge Afternoon show also leads the way as the most listened to Music Drive show in the country**.
Ryan Rathbone, The Edge Content Director, said: "Guy is a loved member of The Edge family and we are excited for his next chapter and upcoming projects. We are equally excited for Sharyn and Clint's return with an all new show for 2017."
For more information on Sharyn and Clint’s search for a new Guy to join them in 2017, keep listening weekday afternoons.
