Seventh for Paget in Pau
Jock Paget and Clifton Signature have this morning finished seventh in the CCI4* at Les 4 Etoiles de Pau in France.
Two rails in the showjumping proved costly for the Kiwi eventer, and he finished on 56 penalty points. He wasn’t the only one who had rails down in the final phase – a Pau title continues to elude Olympic champ Michael Jung (GER) who had faults with both his horses to finish second on FischerTakinou with 52.1,on whom he led the dressage with, and third on overnight leader FischerRocana FST with 52.2.
That the left way clear for Frenchman Maxime Livio aboard Qala o des Mers who rode a faultless round to finish on his dressage score of 45.3 and take the win. There were just seven clear rounds in the final phase.
Caroline Powell and her horses Spice Sensation and Flying Finish finished 26thand 27th respectively on 79.8 and 80.5 after picking up faults in the showjumping.
Powell and Chance Encounter were 31st in the CIC2*, with 90.2 penalty points, finishing with a clear round in the showjumping.
