Wine Festival
Tickets on sale from 1 October
Tickets go on sale on Saturday, 1st October 2016 for the third annual Bridge Pa Wine Festival.
On Saturday, 21st January 2017 the Bridge Pa Wine Festival will bring together eight of Hawke’s Bay’s finest wineries for a day of great wine, food, and a range of top quality musical entertainment; with each winery producing different offerings, it makes it eight festivals in one.
The Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District extends over more than 2,000 hectares on the western side of the Heretaunga Plains in Hawke’s Bay. The region is recognised for producing some of New Zealand’s top wines.
“We are thrilled by how well the event has been received and are looking forward to our third festival. We’re confident that we can once again offer festival goers an outstanding day out,” says festival spokesperson Paul Ham.
The Bridge Pa Wine Festival allows attendees the chance to experience what makes the Wine District unique, whilst enjoying local food and entertainment.
“The Triangle contains the oldest soils on the Heretaunga Plains. It is characterised by three unique free-draining soil types, overlying ‘red metal’ alluvial gravels, ideally suited to viticulture. This combined with our high sunshine hours and low rainfall allows us to produce wines unlike anything else found in New Zealand,” says Mr Ham.
Abbey Estate, Alpha Domus, Ash Ridge, Hawkes Ridge, Ngatarawa, Paritua, Redmetal Vineyards and Sileni Estates will all host individual events, music, and food and wine matches. Participating wineries will be connected by hop on/ hop off bus services throughout the day, allowing them to visit as many wineries as they choose. A major attraction of the event is that the participating wineries are located less than five minutes’ drive apart.
The festival begins at 10:00am and finishes at 6:00pm. Tickets are available from Eventfinda. Prices start from $35 per person and include access to all wineries, a festival glass and use of the hop on/ hop off buses throughout the day. Tickets are also available which include transport from Napier, Taradale, Havelock North and Hastings, beginning at 9:30am.
