Ange Davis to appeal decision
Over the weekend in Auckland, New Zealand, Benjamin Watt put on his first boxing under BTW Promotions fight 4 Charity. The main event was Nailini Helu vs Ange Davis for the Vacant NZPBA and Vacant UBF Asia Pacific Women’s Heavyweight title.
The bout itself ended by a split decision in favour of the blue corner Nailini Helu, however it seems that it was an unpopular decision. Over the last 48 hours, people have taken to facebook to share there opinion on the decision, including one particular person who has the same last name as Ange Davis’s trainer, has said that the judges of the bout should go hang themselves.
When ask what his opinion on a certain comment, Benjamin Watt Stated...
“I am the type of person that says no matter what the result is you should always show aroha respect and kindness to boxers, officials, trainers, managers, family and friends. I personally did not see the bout between Nailini vs Ange as I was tending to an injured boxer. However I do not care who wins, lose or draws, no one deserves abuse like this especially since the event promoted world suicide day and the mika haka foundation. We will not accept abuse like this and we as a community should not accept abuse like this especially when someone is telling someone else to go kill themselves”
Ange Davis team from South Auckland Leegarr Thaiboxing (S.A.L.T), has officially made an appeal with the local commissioning body, New Zealand Professional Boxing Association (N.Z.P.B.A).
Watt has officially announce the following…
“I am here to announce that an appeal has been lodge for the decision of the Nailini Helu vs Ange Davis bout for the NZPBA & UBF Asia Pacific Titles. NZPBA Secretary Sir Pat Leonard has accepted the appeal and will be putting together a committee to view and consider its decision. There will be no further comment in the meantime till all facts and Appeal considered.”
A few accusations have been made toward the commissioning body including rigging the fight due to Nailini Helu being close to have a world title shot this time next year, all the judges are related and came in pre empted with a plan and the score cards from one of the judges were altered.
At this present time, it is unknown how long the appeal will take or what decision might be, however more evidence will be submit over the next week with video footage will be put on youtube of the bout thanks to Gladrap channel.
Promoter Craig Thomson of CTP Boxing has officially announce that there is an offer on the table to Ange Davis and her team to take on Nailini Helu at Thomson’s 10 year anniversary show on December 10th. If the rematch does indeed happen, it will certainly be an exciting fight.
