Show your talents and raise money for a great cause!
Help empower young people with disabilities across NZ by getting involved in StarJam’s first ever Buskathon and you could also be in to win a 1 day recording session at Stebbing Recording Studio in Auckland.
StarJam is a not-for-profit that has been working with young people with disabilities (Jammers) since 2002. It currently has over 350 Jammers participating in musical workshops in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton and Tauranga each week.
Help StarJam expand by getting involved in our Buskathon 4 StarJam. Just upload a video of you busking, singing, dancing, or lip-syncing, and get your friends and family to support you by donating towards your video. Make it a challenge with your friends/work colleagues and see who can create the best video! The information has been sent to secondary schools nationwide to encourage them to get their students involved. Not only is it wonderful to see Youth helping Youth but this is an exciting opportunity for a young up and coming musician to get their first break.
Among the hundreds of New Zealander’s whose lives have been enriched by StarJam’s programmes, New Zealand’s Got Talent winner 2013, Renee Maurice has emerged as a spokesperson for StarJam and its campaigns. Maurice was in a participant in a StarJam workshop for six years before becoming a singing tutor for two and eventually taking out the competition.
Maurice says “StarJam provides a platform for young people to share their gifts and talents with people, and the chance to make lasting friendships. They inspire audiences and find confidence and happiness. If it weren’t for StarJam, I would not be where I am today, personally or professionally.”
All you have to do is:
1. Create a Give A Little fundraising page
2. Upload a video of yourself performing, and
3. Get friends & family to donate to your page in support of StarJam.
Raise the most money and you could win a 1 day recording session at Stebbing Recording Studio in Auckland. You could also be in with a chance to perform at one of our live Buskathon events across NZ on Saturday 29 October, alongside our Jammers and some great NZ celebrities.
