There is now another visible face of the extent to which the free press is
under threat in New Zealand.
Kiwi journalist and activist Suzie Dawson has been extensively targeted by
Western intelligence agencies including the FBI, as well as private
agencies and their contractors.
After several overt attempts on her life, she had to leave her home in
Auckland to live in exile in Europe.
In "Diary of a Person of Interest", Suzie presents clear, concise and
credible evidence about what it is like to be targeted by the Five Eyes,
detailing why she was targeted, who by, their methodologies, end game and
what she learned from her experiences.
The movie also references, in a personalised context: the Occupy &
Anonymous movements; the FBI and their notorious informant 'Sabu'; Kim
Dotcom and the Internet Party; the GCSB movement (and other Kiwi activism
campaigns); Dotcom, Julian Assange, Edward Snowden and Glenn Greenwald's
'Moment of Truth' event; and WikiLeaks.
Suzie says: "'Diary of a Person of Interest' is based off a talk I gave at
the Chaos Communications Camp in Germany, last year. The events depicted
in the film roughly cover the period October 2011 to January 2015. Some
may find the topics discussed to be terrifying but it is reality in this
day and age and to change it we have to face it."
