Tactix foundation player and Netball Mainland icon, Anna Thompson has re-signed with the Tactix for the 2017 ANZ Netball Elite League.
Thompson brings a wealth of experience at the elite level, including 13 Tests for the Silver Ferns and as a member of the FAST5 Ferns team for 5 years, winning gold in the 2010 and 2013 FAST5 World Netball Series.
“We are really excited to have someone of Anna’s experience and skills back on board for the 2017 campaign. She is an icon in our region both on and off the court,” Netball Mainland CEO Brigit Hearn said.
“Anna played some of her best Netball in 2016 and continues to be one of the fittest in the Tactix team.”
Playing in both the midcourt and shooting positions since 2008, Thompson played 116 ANZ Championship matches for the Tactix – the 13th most matches played in the former trans-Tasman league’s history.
“I am really thrilled to be back in the red, black and blue of the Mainland Tactix,” Thompson said.
“Playing with a really talented group of athletes, with amazing facilities, in the best Zone in the country is hugely motivating for me and I can’t wait for the 2017 competition to start.”
