Announcing All Speakers, Seminar Programme, Conference App And Mixers for Going Global 2016
There is loads of exciting news from Going Global HQ today. With the countdown on to the annual music conference in full swing, we are pleased to announce the full details for the
Going Global Music Summit 2016, taking place at The Orange on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 September.
Firstly, we welcome four awesome Australian additions to the line-up of international conference speakers for this year and announce all the fantastic New Zealanders
who are joining us for Going Global 2016.
Secondly, the Going Global Music Summit full conference programme and timetable has now been published and is available on the website at: goingglobal.co.nz.
And if you want to get the information about the speakers, seminar programme, venue and showcasing artists all in one handy place, you can download the official Going Global conference app. Available for both Android and iPhone, you can use the app to sort your seminar schedule, favourite speakers and artists, check maps, venue layouts, stay in touch with fellow registrants and more. Search ‘Going Global Music Summit’ in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
We also we welcome Jaxsta and Eventbrite on board as partners for Going Global 2016. Both of these excellent platforms will be closing each day of the conference with a presentation and hosting a mixer. All registrants are welcome!
Leading the list of our newly announced Australian speakers is Maggie Collins – a festival programmer, artist manager and radio broadcaster. The co-programmer for BIGSOUND in Brisbane, she also manages multi-ARIA Award winning party-thrash duo DZ Deathrays. Wearing her radio hat Maggie was Music Director at 4ZZZ before transitioning to triple j where she was a presenter for 6 years and is now presenting and producing for various shows across the triple j network.
Matty Newton from Pandora has worn many hats within the music industry from a radio DJ to a live theatre performer, social media manger to music programmer – making his experience perfect for his current position as the Pandora Music Editor for Australia / New Zealand. Matty, an artist marketing platform evangelist, looks after curation and playlisting, training and workshops, event coordination and hosting. Matty helps collate content for marketing, sound recording/production and editing of artist interviews & audio messages.
Ronan Mason is the co-founder and CEO of MuzeRoom – a site that serves you music news, new releases, and new music videos ¬ but only for the artists you like and listen to.
Ronan has 15 years experience working in digital, with 10 of these in music including Head of Digital roles at Warner Music Australia, Universal Music UK, Virgin Media UK, and MTV Australia.
His goal is to develop MuzeRoom into the #1 destination for music news on the web.
Henry Compton has covered a lot of bases before joining The Orchard learning the industry from the ground up. He has handled label management, radio, acquisitions, retail & online marketing, artist management, strategy & planning across the board, including for companies such as Inertia and Other Tongues. A passionate creative advocate he has previously served as a Director on the AIR board and is currently Director of Australia & New Zealand business for The Orchard. The Orchard is a pioneering music, video and film distribution company with a comprehensive list of label services, they are a globally top ranked YouTube Multi Channel Network who have offices in over 25 global markets.
