Netball's biggest event of the year, the U17 Netball Champs, has seen it's first day of competition.
40 Netball Centres compete in this four-day, outdoor tournament - the only domestic event held outdoors.
The event is being held at Netball North Canterbury in Rangiora and features the best U17 netballers from across the country competing for the right to be crowned champions.
Teams are currently divided into eight pools for Section Play, with play re-commencing on Day 2 from 8.30am.
The Netball NZ U17 Champs will culminate in a Grand Final to be played at 3pm on Thursday 21 July.
