NZA management team confirmed

NZA management team confirmed

Media Release
Tuesday 19 July, 2016

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Marianne Delaney to the role of NZA head coach.

Joining Delaney (Mainland Tactix assistant coach) will be assistant coach Margaret Forsyth (Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Beko Netball League coach), manager Jo Holmes (Central Pulse) and NZ U21 physiotherapist Jen Fergusson.

NZA will play a series of warm-up games against the Australian Diamonds, South Africa’s SPAR Proteas, the England Roses and the Silver Ferns in the lead-up to August’s Netball Quad Series.

Netball New Zealand head of high performance Steve Lancaster says the NZA programme provides further opportunities for coaching staff to experience international Netball.

“The great thing about the NZA programme is it provides our next tier of players and coaches with more exposure to international competition which we know is a step up from the ANZ Championship,” Lancaster said.

“The opportunity to play practice matches against some of the best teams in international Netball is invaluable; as will be the exposure to international competition and the different styles of play.”

“It’s a challenge I know the team will relish and enjoy.”

NNZ will announce the NZA team in August, with the team to assemble ahead of their first match against the SPAR Proteas on Tuesday 23 August. All matches will be closed to the public.
