Art History in Practice II: Victoria Wynne-Jones

Art History in Practice II: Victoria Wynne-Jones
Wednesday 13 July, 5.15pm
The Adam Art Gallery Te Pātaka Toi

The Adam Art Gallery is pleased to host the second seminar in the 2016 Art History in Practice Series. Presented in partnership with the Victoria University of Wellington Art History Programme, the series showcases current art historical research by established and emerging art historians and curators, working inside and outside the academy.

Visiting doctoral candidate in Art History at the University of Auckland, Victoria Wynne-Jones, will discuss artworks created by choreographers within a contemporary art context. Wynne-Jones will critically examine performances where artists and performers meet the general public, to explore the inter-subjective relations these entail.

Victoria Wynne-Jones has recently curated exhibitions for Artspace NZ and the Window project at the University of Auckland. Her research interests currently lie in the fields of contemporary art, curatorial practice, feminisms, philosophy and dance studies and she has contributed writing to various art publications and exhibitions.
