Wake Up Call Set for NZ Olympic Team Fans
The New Zealand Olympic Team in conjunction with New Zealand Olympic Committee Major Partner ANZ have developed an app to ensure fans don’t miss watching their Kiwi heroes in action at the Rio Olympic Games next month.
The official NZ Olympic Team app, launched today, includes personalised alarm clock reminders as well as medal notifications, individualised schedules and results.
It also provides bios of all the athletes, contains the New Zealand team’s competition schedules, and has an innovative way for fans to show their support.
“Augmented reality has been used to develop a star scape messaging function within the app,” says Sue McGregor Head of Sponsorship ANZ.
“Supporters can send messages to the stars and the athletes can use their phone to scan the night sky to see that New Zealanders are right there with them.
“We’re all under the same sky, no matter where we are in the World and in Rio you can still see the Southern Cross at night.”
