Jono and Ben and Duncan Garner Radio Mashup

Jono and Ben and Duncan Garner Radio Mashup

RadioLIVE Drive host Duncan Garner has set a challenge to Jono and Ben from The Rock’s Drive Home to step-up to the mic and try talk radio. The boys have accepted the dare, but counter-offered Duncan, insisting he swaps and covers their Rock Drive Home show. The swap will be next Thursday, July 7.

No strangers to the big stories of the day, Jono and Ben are feeling pretty confident they will manage: "We are looking forward to talk radio and think we’ll cope. Jono looks like an older Murray Deaker so we are half way there.”

In preparation, Jono and Ben say they will be spending the next week forming some strong opinions. “The politicians better be shaking in their boots, we may prank call Judith Collins. Who knows what we will get up to in an hour?”

The pair are more concerned about how their show will be. "We don't feel entirely comfortable leaving our high-brow drive time radio show to some low-rent inexperienced broadcaster like Duncan Garner."

However, Duncan is feeling relaxed about the challenge and looking forward to putting his feet up between songs. “I’m ready to come up with five rock anthems and five girls that used to be my girlfriends in the 80s. I just hope my listeners know if the lads start raving, they can join me and my favourite tunes on The Rock – and I’ll be back in the RadioLIVE hot-seat from 4pm,” he says.

The radio mashup will have the Drive hosts Jono and Ben on RadioLIVE, while Duncan Garner is on The Rock, from 3pm to 4pm, Thursday 7 July, 2016.
