TV3 Win Sunday Night With The Block NZ And Season Two Premiere Of Westside

Season two of TV3’s Westside launched last night with 693,000 New Zealanders* tuning in to watch the premiere (5+ cume). Of those, 450,000 were 25-54 year olds – 99,900 more people than last year.

The local drama won its timeslot in 25-54 and delivered a 9.8 rating, attracting an average audience of 190,900 people – 21,600 more viewers than last season. Westside grew the Sunday timeslot with 25-54 ratings up by +60%, and a +39% share lift in 25-54 compared to the previous four week average.

The Block NZ: Girls vs Boys pulled out its best ratings across the season to date with growth on the previous Sunday’s episode, attracting 289,600 viewers (average audience) and 199,300 in the key demographic of 25-54. Compared to last year, it is performing significantly higher than Sunday nights at the same time last year. The Block NZ won its timeslot with viewers in 18-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

These results contributed to TV3 winning Sunday night in its key target demographic of 25-54 year olds, as well as 18-49 and Household Shoppers with children 0-14.

As part of its continuous improvements to 3NOW, MediaWorks’ Video On-Demand service launched a new improved 3NOW website. MediaWorks also commenced 24/7 live-streaming of all TV3 programmes on the 3NOW web/ desktop and app, providing Kiwis a new way to watch their favourite shows on digital platforms.

RadioLIVE announced a new Sunday Sport show with hosts Andrew Gourdie and James McOnie, starting Sunday 19 June at 2pm. The newSunday Sport offering promises to be fast-paced and fun, without losing focus on the sports news of the day.
