Queen’s Birthday Weekend is nearly upon us, meaning the time has come for the annual celebrations of all things UK with Queen’s Birthday at Queens Wharf. Head along to Queens Wharf over the long weekend of Saturday 4,Sunday 5th and Monday 6th June to enjoy a diverse selection of music, culture, food, industry and history that family and friends alike will love. The
programme is jam-packed with entertainment and activities galore. Read on for a taste of the royal delights on offer

Makers’ Market
The Queen’s Birthday Makers’ Market is our annual market as you’ve never seen it before. Shed 10 is transformed into a thriving hub of over 60 stalls,
where patrons can engage with arts and crafts as they are created. Stock up on specialty imported British products,
along with countless homemade and vintage New Zealand treasures thanks to popular local craft, art, fashion and
accessories vendors. A delectable and varied range of food and drink options will appeal to all appetites and keep you
moving all afternoon.
Fun for Whanau and Friends
Visit the southern apron of Queens Wharf for an array of fun carnival fare with classic seaside carnival games and
rides, worthy of a Brighton afternoon! From merry-go-rounds and tea pot rides, to carnival games, a bouncy castle and
ferris wheel, the family will happily while away the hours here. Kids can also enjoy bouncing on the Springfree
trampolines, or learn a little at the MOTAT demonstration and experiment stands! But the fun isn’t just for kids -
plenty of British sports and games will be on offer, with a special series of Open Fort interactive High Tea Party games
for adults to enjoy - you won’t want to miss this.
For a quiet spot of reading over the weekend check out themed books and the digital library on board the Auckland Libraries’ bus. For a scenic tour, enjoy Robbie’s double-decker bus rides around the Queens Wharf precinct, for only a gold coin
donation. Vintage car displays will be revolving daily, with a selection of historic British motor-cars that would do
James Bond proud! There’s even more to be involved in - the weekend also includes a Grand Cake-off(Saturday 2pm), a special dog show “Scrufts” (Sunday 2pm), and theMaritime Museum photo booth, where you can capture the moment all weekend long!
What’s more, this year, Queen’s Birthday at Queens Wharf features a very special interactive painting wall, where you
can let out the artist within and collaborate with all of the weekend’s visitors to create something magnificent!
Entertainment
This year’s programme is absolutely overflowing with fantastic entertainment, celebrating the best of UK culture. A
pop-top caravan will play host to guest DJs, spinning the very best of British tunes throughout the eras. Come and be
blown away by the sounds of Auckland City Brass, performing for one day only (11.30 am Saturday 4 June). New Zealand’s own Scottish clan, Clan Celtica are as authentic
as they come. Catch the award winning Clan Celticaparading about Queens Wharf fully adorned in Scottish dress, performingSaturday (12noon) and Sunday (11am)! Then, Doyle Academy of Irish Dance are bringing some traditional inspiration to Queens Wharf with a sure-to-be spectacular performance at 1pm. On Sunday 5
June, the Maypole Dancerswill be performing a rich piece of British dance, dating back to 1300’s. Presented by the Meadowbank Maypole Club, for one day only (1pmSunday), this is one not to be missed. Jonathon Acorn is a master puppeteer, entertaining
audiences of all ages. Come have some fun with Spike Bones and more, on show every day at Queens Wharf this weekend.
In addition to these special guests, you’ll find clowns, carnival performers, Morris dancers and even a Mad Hatter or
two ready for some fun!

When it comes time to relax a little, park up to enjoy an array of refreshment options at Queens Wharf this Queen’s
Birthday weekend. For the royalty of the family, try the decadent expanded High Tea offering upstairs at the Cloud, or the more cosy bar and restaurant downstairs at the Cloud, catered by the
ever-delicious Mint Kitchen serving scrumptious food and free-range wine. Auckland looks spectacular on a winter’s day - get ready to relax with
