Campaign for families a huge success
“We’re over the moon!” says The Parenting Place CEO, Greg Fleming, following the success of the Great Family Giveaway campaign – a nationwide fundraiser which brought in over $250,000 to support the work of this family-focused charity.
Over the past month, 92 The Warehouse stores sold $2 Great Family Giveaway tickets to thousands of customers, with fantastic prizes up for grabs – including a brand new Toyota Rav4. Last week, South Auckland resident, Teina Whakatau, beamed as he was handed the keys to the campaign’s grand prize.
When he bought his $2 ticket at The Warehouse in Clendon a couple of weeks ago, he never imagined that he would soon be the owner of a shiny new ride. “When I peeled back the ticket and saw the words, ‘Congratulations! You have won a Toyota Rav4!’, I didn’t believe it was true. I quickly took it to show my mum and brother, and they couldn’t believe it either! We were so excited. It was the best moment”, says Teina.
More than giving away fabulous prizes, the focus of the campaign was helping New Zealand families through the work of The Parenting Place.“At The Parenting Place, we are all about supporting, inspiring and walking alongside Kiwi families. We truly believe that healthy, loving families can transform society”, says Fleming.
The Parenting Place has been in operation for almost 25 years, enhancing the lives of families and young people throughout the country, through inspirational, accessible programmes and resources, designed for all New Zealanders.
“We love partnering with other organisations to make our work possible, and we truly value the relationship we have with The Warehouse to help Kiwi families. The team at Toyota were incredibly generous in letting us purchase the Rav4 at a discount, and we’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who bought a $2 ticket too – your generosity will enable us to impact hundreds more families in Aotearoa”, says Fleming.
The Warehouse EGM for Community and Environment, Paul Walsh, said The Parenting Place do a great job to support Kiwi families and The Warehouse is proud to have played a part in the organisation’s campaign.
