The Bachelor Finale & Women Tell All Ratings Success, Wednesday Sees TV3 Win The Night And Achieve Highest Channel Share Since 2014

The second season of The Bachelor New Zealand concluded last week, exceeding all expectations, with the final episode on Monday and Women Tell All reunion on Tuesday sequentially securing the highest audiences of the season.

Monday’s finale performed extremely well, attracting 781,900* viewers on the night, and an average audience of 219,400 25-54 year olds – the highest number of viewers for the season – winning its timeslot in 25-54 and other key demographics. Monday night’s success was also buoyed by Newshub Live at 6pm and Story both winning their timeslots in 25-54.

Tuesday night’s Women Tell All special reunion episode eclipsed this result, attracting a total audience of 834,800* (94,800 more people than last year's After The Final Rose special of 740,000), and an average audience in 25-54 of 227,700 (77,300 more viewers than last year's special of 150,400).

This outstanding result on Tuesday was supported by Family Feud attaining its highest ratings for the year, securing the same rating in the 25-54 demographic as Home & Away, and NCIS winning its timeslot in 25-54. These combined results led to TV3 winning Tuesday night in its target demographic, and achieving the highest 25-54 channel share since November 2014.

Wednesday also saw Paul Henry once again outperform its competitor Breakfast, securing a 2.1 rating against a 1.8 rating in the 25-54 demographic.

Finally, while Jordan and Fleur’s romance didn’t endure, audience interest in The Bachelor New Zealand did. The season has been watched online or live-streamed more than one million times with an additional half a million views of short-form content. These numbers are expected to increase.

At the other end of the week, TV3’s Friday comedy night line-up saw The Graham Norton Show and 7 Days win their timeslots in the 25-54 demographic.
