Givealittle supports Serve For NZ campaign to honour
Anzac spirit
Givealittle is getting behind the Serve For New Zealand campaign, by encouraging Kiwis to pledge either their time or their cash to do good and serve their communities this Anzac Day.
Serve For New Zealand is a partnership between the Returned and Services Association (RSA), the Student Volunteer Army and the University of Canterbury. It aims to create a day of volunteering, encouraging all New Zealanders to pledge time towards community or neighbourly projects on national holidays - with Anzac Day being used as a pilot to mark the 100th anniversary of the RSA.
Givealittle’s Chief Giving Officer Tom Beyer said the campaign perfectly matched the Givealittle mission to be the place where Kiwis go to give and share.
“We love the concept of honouring the sacrifices made by our Kiwi veterans with a day of service, and it’s fantastic to see more than 5,000 hours of service pledged already.
“Givealittle wants to get in behind Serve For New Zealand by encouraging those who, for whatever reason, can’t pledge their time to instead go on to the Serve For NZ Givealittle page and pledge their cash towards an iconic New Zealand cause, the Poppy Appeal.”
The Serve for NZ Givealittle page can be found at https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/servefornz#. All funds raised on the page will go to the RSA’s Poppy Appeal, which supports New Zealand’s current and former returned and service personnel and their families.
