ANZ Championship General Manager to take on new challenge
The Trans-Tasman Netball League (TTNL) has today announced ANZ Championship General Manager Andy Crook will be leaving his role with TTNL (April 15) to take up a new position as Chief Operating Officer with Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL).
TTNL Board Chair Shirley Hooper said the TTNL Board would like to congratulate Andy on his new role and thank him for his outstanding contribution to the ANZ Championship over the last five years.
“Andy has overseen a period of continued growth and evolution of the ANZ Championship and we wish him every success in his new role with the NBL,” Hooper said.
Crook commenced his tenure following the fourth season of the trans-Tasman league and since that time, he has played a major role in cementing its position as not only one of Australia and New Zealand’s leading sports competitions, but also one of the world’s premier female sport leagues.
“I would like to thank the TTNL Board and all of the dedicated stakeholders who I have been fortunate enough to work with over the past five years,” Crook said.
“Collectively we have continued to push the boundaries of what is possible for the ANZ Championship and I am proud that we have continued to set new benchmarks for attendances, broadcast audiences and the superb on court product that the teams deliver week in, week out,” he said.
Mark Bailey, who has been with the ANZ Championship since its inception as Business Finance Manager, will take over as General Manager and oversee the remainder of the 2016 ANZ Championship season, working closely with Netball New Zealand, Netball Australia and the ten teams, with a firm focus on building on the competition’s year on year growth.
Bailey said he was excited to take up the new challenge and was looking forward to delivering a successful 2016 ANZ Championship.
