Getting to Auckland City Limits
The Transport User’s Guide
With Auckland City Limits now less than two weeks away it is time to talk about how to get along to the March 19 Western Springs music festival – including news of free public transport to the gig and a special offer from UBER.
Public transport is definitely the best way to get to and from ACL. Auckland Transport and ACL offer free special event buses from Quay Street in the city and free train travel on the city rail network on the day, as long as you have your event ticket. Full information can be found athttps://at.govt.nz/bus-train-ferry/events/auckland-city-limits/
These special event buses connect with bus and ferry services from other parts of Auckland to provide a seamless option for concertgoers from all corners of the city.
The festival has teamed up with smartphone app UBER for a first ride discount offer to get festivalgoers to and from the event. Details of that offer can be found on the festival website ataucklandcitylimits.com.
UBER rides from City Limits will be available from a zone on Old Mill Road as the festival ends.
Taxi and drop-off zones are located on Great North Road outside Western Springs Park along from MOTAT.
For those getting to the festival under their own steam, Auckland City Limits offers bike racks for cyclists right at the festival gate on the corner of Great North Road and Bullock Track. Just bring your own bike lock.
There’s no parking within the festival aside from a limited amount of Disability Parking inside MOTAT (entry via Gate B off Great North Road).
Full information on these transport options can be found online at aucklandcitylimits.com, along with details relating to all road closures and parking restrictions in the neighbourhood.
