Quintessentially Kiwi - a concert of great New Zealand music
Quintessentially Kiwi - a concert of great New Zealand music we've laughed, danced, cried and sung along to over the years.
Operatunity’s
Daytime Concert, Quintessentially Kiwi will be a whirlwind
tour through the great New Zealand music that so many of us
have laughed, danced, cried and sung along to over the
years. Join legendary entertainer from the Chicks, Suzanne
Lynch, “The 3 Kiwi Blokes” - Karl Perigo, Robert Enari
and Alex Milligan and a live band as they pay tribute to
some of New Zealand’s most treasured entertainers: Sir
Howard Morrison, Ray Columbus, the Topp Twins, Maria Dallas,
John Rowles, Billy T. James, Fred Dagg, Peter Posa and many
more.
There is plenty of great music to choose from and Operatunity has selected iconic songs, each of which has its own special place in New Zealand history and in our hearts.

Featured is Blue Smoke, the first wholly produced New Zealand record in 1949, about one of New Zealand’s defining experiences as a nation – the Second World War. Then there was the 60s with the craze for the new British sound of the Beatles and Cliff Richard and soon Ray Columbus and the Invaders had teenagers screaming and dancing with She’s a Mod. New Zealand music flourished in the 60s and 70s with hits like Welcome to my World, Cheryl Moana Marie and Just a Closer Walk with Thee. In between all of this great music will be plenty of good fun and laughter. The concerts start at 11am and includes a light lunch afterwards where you will have a chance to chat with the artists.
